2nd Network Meeting in Porto: building a great team

At last, almost all the members of the #IoTalentum project at the first face-to-face IoTalentum meeting in Porto. One of the most desired moments for all of us!!

For big European projects, Covid-19 has been one of the main challenges. IoTalentum started in the middle of a terrible pandemic which caused enormous mobility problems which has hindered the execution of the project as initially planned.

The IoTalentum European network with 14 partners and 15 Early State Researcher (ESRs) in process of being selected and hired, has finally had the chance to meet in person for the first time from March 14 – 16, 2022 in Porto, hosted by the Instituto Superior de Engenharia do Porto (ISEP).

Due to mobility restrictions between countries, not all managed to attend the meeting in person; however, this did not prevent them from attending and participating according to the agenda. Despite the available digital collaboration tools, it became clear that meeting each other in person is crucial to build to trust amongst the members of the network and pooling expertise and efforts to achieve the goals of this ambitious project.

During the meeting IoTalentum members had the opportunity to get to know each other a little better and introduce the institutions, supervisors and the researchers involved in the net.

During the several sessions, the management and implementation of the project was reviewed by all consortium. Each work package leader presented an overview of the research work packages (WP1-3) and its associated tasks, deliverables, and milestones. And then was the turn of the ESRs already contracted, presenting their individual projects which will conduct them to get the PhD.

Here, we present you almost all early-stage researchers who will develop their research projects in the IoTalentum network.

The third network-wide training and working event will take place on 4th – 8th July 2022 in TU/e Eindhoven, Netherlands.
